The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) is a UK-based international accountancy membership and standard-setting body. We have a positive impact on changing lives for the better and supporting our members throughout their careers. As the only global body dedicated to public financial management, we ensure that public money is raised and spent with transparency. Joining as our Police and Fire Network Advisor, you’ll be at the heart of our purposeful work and have the chance to develop your expertise.

In this exciting and impactful role, you’ll work with an integrated team of experts to plan, develop and deliver a wide range of professional services. When it comes to the Police and Fire network, you’ll lead our advice on accounting and financial reporting. We’ll ask you to innovate and deliver products and services which will help us achieve our annual business plan. Future-focused, you’ll support organisations with relevant training and identify, prepare and/or commission a range of documents and research. Plus, you’ll deliver regional, national and international events, briefings and workshops. Everything you do will help us to adopt best practice and spot areas for improvement.

We’re looking for someone with a professional accountancy qualification and experience in a senior accounting role. This will have been within a police force or similar public service body. Thanks to your background, you’ll have a great understanding of the challenges facing the sector and successful track record of delivering services on a commercial basis. Your passion also means you’ll be able to deliver integrated solutions to complex problems. And with excellent communication skills, you’ll confidently deliver training courses and speak to large groups of people.

In return, you’ll enjoy a flexible 36-hour working week, 25 days’ annual leave and up to a 10% employer’s pension contribution. Plus, we offer season ticket loans, an employee assistance helpful and exclusive discounts and rewards.
