Sustainability Manager
Location: London, Chester or Edinburgh, with home working

Lead an international sector towards net zero.

The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) is a UK-based international accountancy membership and standard-setting body. We have a positive impact on changing lives for the better and supporting our members throughout their careers. As the only global body dedicated to public financial management, we ensure that public money is raised and spent with transparency. Joining as our Sustainability Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our purposeful work.

In this exciting and impactful role, you’ll help us play a major role in meeting net zero ambitions and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. We’ve published an overview of public sector reporting and identified seven areas for development. You’ll push this even further and embed our thinking and guidance. As our spokesperson, you’ll curate our response to relevant issues, green finance, procurement, investment, and asset management. You’ll lead on the development of international public sector sustainability reporting, creating and maintaining tools, frameworks and guidance for public sector entities around the world.

We’re looking for someone with experience of developing sustainability strategies or frameworks, as well as strong theoretical and practical knowledge of global environment standards, frameworks, and the SDGs. You’ll have excellent problem-solving skills and pay impressive attention to detail. As a credible individual, you’ll confidently work with a range of people across different functions. With excellent communication skills, you’ll enjoy presenting, giving interviews, and participating in panel discussions. As a real people-person with a flexible approach and inspiring mindset, you’ll quickly have a positive impact.

In return, you’ll enjoy a flexible 36-hour working week, 25 days’ annual leave and up to a 10% employer’s pension contribution. Plus, we offer season ticket loans, an employee assistance helpful and exclusive discounts and rewards.

If you’d like a confidential discussion about the opportunity, please call Kirsty Stanners, Head of Policy & Technical on 07866 484322.

To apply, please send your CV and covering letter. (Please note that may close the vacancy once we receive a high number of applications.)
