Technical Advisor

Shape our technical journey, and shape your career.

The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) is a UK-based international accountancy membership and standard-setting body. We have a positive impact on changing lives for the better and supporting our members throughout their careers. As the only global body dedicated to public financial management, we ensure that public money is raised and spent with transparency. Joining as a Technical Advisor, you’ll be at the heart of our purposeful work and have the chance to shape your career.

In this exciting and impactful role, you’ll help to develop the professional interface between key stakeholders and CIPFA. It’s an exciting time as we’re modernising our technical support to members. So, you’ll be part of our innovative journey, while making sure we continue to maintain our high standards. Thanks to this – and the scope of the role – you’ll develop your expertise across different areas. You’ll respond to complex enquiries, monitor the technical landscape, and have regular contact with stakeholders and subscribers. Plus, you’ll research and write briefings on topics facing public finance professionals.

We’re looking for someone with a professional accountancy qualification. You might have a background in public sector finance, but – more importantly – your values will align with the core management values of public money. As someone who’s willing to learn, you’ll soon understand the challenges facing public sector finance within the UK, and across the world. And while you’ll be keen to hit the ground running and demonstrate a hands-on approach, you’ll have lots of support from our welcoming teams. Proactive, motivated and a great communicator, you’ll make the most of the opportunity.

In return, you’ll enjoy a flexible 36-hour working week, 25 days’ annual leave and up to a 10% employer’s pension contribution. Plus, we offer season ticket loans, an employee assistance helpful and exclusive discounts and rewards.

If you’d like a confidential discussion about the opportunity, please call Amie Bridson, Business Manager on 07824 839567

To apply, please send your CV and covering letter. (Please note that may close the vacancy once we receive a high number of applications.)
