Harlow Council, as part of the Harlow and Gilston Garden Town (HGGT) initiative, has an exciting opportunity for a motivated urban practitioner to be a key player in the Garden Town Management Team. HGGT is a partnership of 5 local authorities working together to deliver sustainable growth of 23,000 new homes in four new Garden Neighbourhoods built to Garden Town Principles.
This position would be well suited to an individual looking to advance their career in enabling large-scale new communities through multi-partnership working and gain hands-on experience in the urban development, planning and regeneration environment.
The District Lead Liaison Officer role will work alongside peers from East Herts and Epping Forest District Councils and Essex and Hertfordshire County Councils to provide major investment in transport, jobs and community infrastructure to support new and existing residents.
You will act as lead officer for Harlow Council and be responsible for facilitating decisions for Harlow Council in relation to the Garden Town initiative. You will be expected to drive progress, in order to ensure the delivery of thousands of new homes and key strategic infrastructure within the Garden Town.
You will be responsible for co-ordinating resources and input on behalf of Harlow Council and for collating input from various teams and functions within the Council to provide single, joined-up messages to the Garden Town authorities and the Garden Town team as needed. You will ensure the two-way flow of relevant information and updates and provide briefings to Senior Officers and Members.
You will lead on HGGT project work streams and identify and unlock key barriers to delivery and lead on significant strategic matters for HGGT.
Excellence in partnership working is critical to this role and you will be required to work positively with internal and external partners in both the public and private sector in a collaborative way in order to achieve the aspirations and objectives of the Garden Town.
