HR/OD Business Partner

This role will put you right at the heart of our people related decision-making and service transformation. You’ll partner with senior leaders for specific service areas; providing expert guidance, advice and support, and delivering innovative solutions as they relate to people. You’ll also lead on employee relations and OD initiatives across the council. On a day-to-day basis, this will see you managing a team of HR/OD Advisors and delivering a suite of tools that support Managers and drive performance and change within services. You’ll oversee everything from grievance and disciplinary, to performance management, complex cases all the way to tribunal if needed and people-related change programmes.
Whether you are mentoring and inspiring junior members of your team, or building relationships with trade unions and senior stakeholders, you’ll be putting your communication skills and professional expertise to excellent use. We’re looking for someone with a strong technical and developmental record gained in the public sector and a full working knowledge of the relevant employment legislation and regulations. You’ll also need experience of managing people, budgets and services, and an HR qualification (CIPD or similar) with a proven track record of managing teams and delivering a HR Business Partnering model to the organisation.
