Finance Analyst

Salary: £41,820 - £46,203 (pay award pending)

A Finance Analyst in a Finance Business Partner Team provides financial advice, analysis and information to a service department to support effective strategic decision making and delivering the medium-term financial strategy.

This role will be supporting Adults and Communities/Public Health/Chief Executives which includes adult social care, libraries, and museums.


  • You need to have CCAB or Equivalent qualification and membership of relevant body.
  • Experience of ensuring the integrity of financial information, resolving financial problems with workable solutions, developing effective working relationships, and working in cross functional teams.
  • You should be able to communicate complex technical financial information to non-finance specialists.
  • Been involved in finance or business projects, have an understanding of project management including identifying and implementing improvements.
  • You need a good understanding of all different areas of finance, be able to use technology to improve information and working practices, demonstrate best practice in finance techniques and support continuous improvement
  • You should be able to take responsibility for organising own work to deliver objectives, flexible approach, awareness of the needs of customers and impact of decisions being undertaken.

Although working in a Local Government environment would be beneficial, it is not essential for this position and attention will be given to those candidates who have worked in a similar role in a large complex organisation.
