And when it comes to our Leisure Services, you’ll make your own contribution to that.

Based in our Resident Services Directorate, you’ll have the incredibly rewarding senior management role of shaping our new Active Lambeth leisure service from the start. The management of eight leisure facilities is coming back in-house from 1 April 2023. You’ll be responsible for their operation and for contributing to the development and implementation of leisure strategies and policies at the same time.

The role will see you work closely with corporate and divisional teams ranging from marketing and HR to commercial development. In addition, you’ll liaise closely with other corporate teams to deliver on the Council’s wider strategic objectives, for example Public Health, Children’s Services and Adult Services.

We’ll look to you to maximise the net income generated by the leisure centres, and to both

increase demand and create new opportunities for people to engage with leisure and sport right across the Borough. In addition, you’ll take full account of Sport England’s new strategy, Uniting the Movement, and the Mayor of London’s strategy for sport and physical activity, Sport for all of us.

Self-motivated and with impressive leadership skills, you’ll bring us your knowledge of the fitness industry and senior-level experience in managing sports and leisure services. Adept at managing budgets as well as contracts, you’ll know how to bring out the best in your team. You’ll also believe in working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
