Building Safety Quality Manager

Salary: £48,819 - £51,837

Drive improvement that protects lives

Taking a lead role here in our new team, you’ll soon discover that your ability to empathise with residents and to really listen to their needs, is as important as your technical knowledge and housing experience. You’ll oversee the collation, distribution and control of data across the team and our supply chain. From cladding inspections and MHCLG consolidated guidance to EWS1 and remediation instructions, you’ll drive continual improvement in resident safety.

Provide insight that supports the right decisions

The work we need to do is far-reaching and varied. We have more than 80 high-rise blocks and a large number of low-rise buildings in the Borough. So, the portfolio offers unique challenges and opportunities – informed by the results of our External Wall Systems survey. Within this setting, you’ll manage Building Safety cases through the gateway approval process, and advise on assessment, review and approval of prospective construction methods, building materials and installation - acting as a technical safety expert and providing insight on defect identification and remedies. In short, you’ll deliver the information we need to protect lives.

Use your skills to drive change across the industry

We’re looking for someone with considerable experience of managing and advising on quality in relation to building safety – ideally gained in a large organisation. You’ll be an expert when it comes to investigating and resolving building defects - and you’ll be confident working on construction projects right through from initial planning to occupation. You’ll also be familiar with researching, developing and implementing policy and strategy, and have an excellent knowledge of building pathology, construction methods and materials – as well as the relevant regulations. CIOB or RICS, and IFE membership will be essential.
