Compliance Manager – Fire Safety

Develop and manage a team to keep our buildings safe
Heading up our new team, you’ll soon discover that your ability to empathise with residents and to really listen to their needs, is as important as your technical knowledge and housing experience. You’ll take operational responsibility for the fire safety risk assessment process across Council owned and managed housing – ensuring we meet all legislative and regulatory standards and that our residents are safe in their homes. From the preparation and delivery of the FRA programme to the issuing and monitoring of fire safety actions, you’ll implement quality assurance processes and use performance data to evaluate and monitor improvement right across the Borough.
Provide the expertise to delivery change
The work we need to do is far-reaching and varied. We have more than 80 high-rise blocks and a large number of low-rise buildings in the Borough. So, the portfolio offers unique challenges and opportunities. Within this setting, you’ll provide high quality compliance management and deliver regular reports to Senior Management and Elected Members on performance, developing a suite of key performance indicators to support the work of the team. You’ll be an expert manager capable of motivating and leading a team.
Use your skills to inspire the industry
It’s a challenging role and one that will call on your senior management experience, fire safety and risk assessment knowledge, and your ability to build excellent relationships at the highest levels. An expert understanding of PAS 79, BS 9999 and Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 will be essential. You’ll be a confident presenter, with impressive communication and analytical skills, and experience of change management and project planning in a complex organisation.
