Improve safety and protect lives
A key role in our new team, you’ll soon discover that your ability to empathise with residents and to really listen to their needs, is as important as your technical knowledge and housing experience. You’ll be part of our fire safety team providing a building surveying service – taking responsibility for all the technical aspects of repair, maintenance and improvement of Council owned, managed and leased properties. By providing a specialist surveying service to support our fire safety programme you’ll ensure all our residents are safe in their homes.
Inspire innovation across the Borough
The work we need to do is far-reaching and varied. We have more than 80 high-rise blocks and a large number of low-rise buildings in the Borough. So the portfolio offers unique challenges and opportunities. Within this setting, you’ll develop new approaches for driving improvement – establishing innovative solutions that are efficient and effective. Clearly, fire safety will be a key focus for you – and you’ll work closely with contractors, strategic alliance partners and residents to keep it at the heart of every project.
Use your skills to drive change
Bringing with you experience of building inspection and Fire Safety, and excellent negotiation skills, you’ll share our commitment to creating safe homes and working with the people who live in them. You’ll have an expert knowledge of building pathology, construction methods and materials – as well as the relevant regulations, including HHSRS legislation. A relevant HND, degree or HNC level qualification, for example in building construction, fire risk assessment or surveying.
