Rough Sleeping Lead

Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse, and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council. We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space, and rapid transport connections into the heart of the City.

As our Rough Sleeping Lead, you’ll be our resident expert, addressing rough sleeping problems locally, across London and nationally. If you want to make a positive impact and change lives for the better, this is your opportunity.

You’ll be at the heart of our work on Rough Sleeping, representing the Authority and shaping our policies and strategies. It’s a chance to provide advice and guidance on rough sleeping issues, with the help of your dedicated team and our voluntary sector partners.

You will have strong leadership and organisational skills that will enable you to motivate and develop an evolving team, inspire, and strengthen collaborative working with partners to achieve ambitious outcomes.

Tackling the problem of rough sleeping requires teamwork, so you’ll be working with multiple agencies to co-ordinate rough sleeping initiatives and commissioning. As a trusted contact, you’ll also manage strategic relationships with various official bodies, including the Greater London Authority (GLA).

To join us, you must be degree-educated (or equivalent) with a professional housing qualification and membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing. We’re also looking for practical experience of delivering services face-to-face with homeless or rough sleepers. With this background, you’ll have built up a wealth of knowledge about rough sleeping and homelessness: the legislation involved, the housing issues and the strategic importance of reducing rough sleeping. If you also have strong communication skills, we’d like to hear from you.

If you would like an informal discussion about the role, please contact our recruitment partners at Penna Andreas Efthymiou on 07546 415 794, or via email at Andreas.Efthymiou@penna.com
