Are you a planner, a manager and a leader that wants to take on the Planning challenges facing local government and deliver excellent planning services and a better place for the people of Rother now and in the future? 

If at this time of change,  you are a visionary, supportive leader looking to drive positive change, in collaboration with your team, peers and stakeholders, this is the role for you. This is a recently created position to ensure that the Council’s Planning Service is supported to deliver a new local plan; and robust and defensible planning decisions, to create the best place in terms of design and function for the people of Rother.

As the Head of Planning, you will:

• Lead the local plan, deliver the fundamental changes to the digital delivery of Planning services, and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Development Management Service; 

• Be a key member of the Council’s leadership team;

• Enable the organisation and district to achieve it’s ambitions for the place.

• Be supported by, and support, well-resourced Planning Policy and Development Management Teams. 

You will be an RTPI professional with a track record of leading and managing planning team/s and effectively improving planning services and implementing positive change.
