We are now seeking a suitably qualified lawyer (either a solicitor, barrister, or fellow of CILEx) with experience in advising on Housing Law. The role will be predominately based within the housing team and you will work alongside two senior housing legal support officers.c

The applicant will need to be a good communicator and enjoy working in a team environment. You will need to have good advocacy skills and experience of attending Court and conducting hearings unsupervised.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake case work and provide expert advice on the following matters: housing disrepair, anti-social behaviour, civil injunctions, possession proceedings, homelessness matters, as well as provision of general housing advice.

You will have the confidence and ability to ensure work is completed in appropriate timescales in the most efficient way possible ensuring the security of data at all times. Experience of using the Iken case system would be an advantage.

The right candidate will build positive working relationships with colleagues and clients, be motivated and able to hit the ground running. You will also be able to manage a challenging case load, provide advice on complex matters and demonstrate highly developed negotiation and drafting skills.

You will be responsible to the Senior Housing and Litigation Lawyer.
