Location: Flexible across the North of England, but with a requirement to regularly work from our office in Manchester.
Salary: £46,261 - £56,252 per annum

Transport for the North overview:
Transport for the North was established in 2018 as the first Sub-national Transport Body in England and was formed to transform the transport system for the North of England, providing the strategic infrastructure needed for enhanced economic growth.
As a partnership, we bring together the North’s local transport authorities and business leaders together with delivery partners, like Network Rail and National Highways, and work closely with government. We work with our partners to support and enable delivery of the North’s Strategic Transport Plan ambitions to drive sustainable and inclusive growth.
Our role is to add strategic value by ensuring that funding and strategy decisions about transport in the North are informed by local knowledge and requirements. As a partnership, we have powers devolved from central government to work together to deliver strategic transport priorities.

Role overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Transport for the North within our legal team.
You will provide Transport for the North and directorates including the Rail North Partnership with specialist expert legal advice. You will act as a pro active legal specialist lawyer applying expertise to deliver professional legal, democratic, contract, procurement and corporate information management support services to contribute to the achievement of corporate objectives and strategic priorities.
You will join a close knit, friendly and supportive team, and join an organisation which has a focus on employees health and wellbeing. Last year, Transport for the North received a prestigious Sunday Times Award of Best Places to Work 2024.
What we’re looking for:
The successful candidate will have a strong track record developing and applying modelling and data analytics solutions, in addition to exceptional experience of developing and applying data systems to pull together disparate datasets.
Experience of planning and managing projects/programmes of work, developing and managing script for repeatable analysis along with the use of statistical techniques to find trends and insight from data is essential. You must also have the ability to develop complex technical outputs and offer input to the development of strategies, plans and business cases.
Candidates must possess a highly numerate degree or possess substantial equivalent experience.
